
Well-known doll art teacher Peggy Wilson will coordinate a series of learning circles focusing on technique for those interested in perfecting their doll construction techniques. Peggy’s talent for making the more challenging aspects of doll creation such as graceful and realistic hands, believable poses, etc. possible for the rest of us is well known. Based in the Ottawa area, Peggy currently teaches in Australia and the United States as well as Canada.

Just back from teaching with Patti Cullea on a doll cruise, master doll costumer, Adele Sciortino, will offer a range of materials and tools for costuming and surface design techniques. Adele grew up in New Orleans but is now based in Montreal. She is a much in demand teacher across North America. She is an amazing source of luscious trims and embellishing ideas and techniques and ideas for applying them in figurative art.

All Learning Circle choices will be made when you check in at the Retreat Registration Desk at Algonquin College on June 10. You will also have the option of dropping in on any of the Learning Circles without registering in advance but only if there is available space. The tables accommodate 8 people.
In order to help you with your selection when you register pictures and topics are provided below.
There are no Kit Fees. We will have supplies on hand for all the Learning Circles. However, should you have materials you particularly enjoy working with or would like to experiment with, you might wish to bring them along.
You don’t need to bring a sewing machine for any of the Sharing Circles. We will have 2 or 3 sewing machines available for use for limited periods of time.
You should bring a Basic Sewing Kit
A basic sewing kit includes needles, pins, thread, scissors and tape measure.
Please make sure that ALL your equipment is labeled with your name.
